Inspired Change. Dreams Realized. Work Begins

So much to be said, such much to celebrate, so many moments to capture. Pause with me to bask in this moment. For all of us that have been able to take part in this moment, whether it be voting, marching, protesting, or standing up for your rights, this day means so much. This moment right here truly, truly has been worth it. Our ancestors, our predecessors, and even our oppressors have made this moment possible, so we must stand tall and be proud.

It is such a blessing to be living in a time where a black man with his beautiful black wife and children, can live in the White House. And not only live in that house, but to serve our nation in leadership. This family has set the tone for colorless leadership, been an example of the strength of black family and even black love. I am overwhelmed with emotion when I think about how far God has brought us.

Instead of typing a litany of rhetoric, I am going to enjoy this day by pouring into the youth of South West Atlanta. We are hosting 400 kids at a local church to watch the inauguration alllllll day! (Pray for me... lol) I am going to work today to share this moment with my students and let them now we are in the "Yes We Can" generation. The unique thing about the "Yes We Can" generation is that it's colorless, ageless, and timeless. It is never too late to follow your dreams. It's never too late to be who you want to be. It's never too late to start over. If you believe that God has set you apart for great purpose, know that you shall mount up on wings like an eagle.

So my dear eagle, bask in all the wonderful glory that is found in this moment and write down all these emotions and feelings. This exact moment, these exact feelings, this exact day will never be again. So make this day count!

And never forget!
